The sod installation process typically involves the following steps:
- Layout and measurement: The area to be resodded is measured to determine the correct amount of sod needed.
- Site preparation: The area to be sodded is cleared of any existing grass, weeds or debris and leveled. If necessary, the soil will be amended to make sure the sod will establish itself quickly and thrive.
- Soil preparation: The soil is prepared by removing debris, rocks, and debris. A layer of topsoil or compost is added to the surface, which is then leveled.
- Sod installation: The sod is laid on the prepared soil, with the edges butted up against each other. Care is taken to ensure proper spacing and alignment of the sod.
- Watering: The newly installed sod is watered thoroughly to ensure it is hydrated and to help it establish roots.
- Maintenance: The new sod will require regular watering and fertilization in the first few weeks following installation to ensure it establishes roots and thrives. We will provide you with clear instructions on how to water and care for your new sod.
The process of lawn installation can take from a day to a week, depending on the size of the area and the complexity of the site.
