A properly constructed low-maintenance yard can replace recurring mud and worn grass with a more dependable setting for children, pets, meals and relaxed time outside. Pavers create stable circulation and furniture areas. Turf provides a continuous open surface. Gravel protects selected joints and perimeter spaces. Planting keeps the finished yard from feeling entirely hard. Is this different from artificial turf installation?
Yes. This service coordinates multiple finished materials, separate supporting layers, drainage, grade, edging, circulation and planting areas as one backyard construction project rather than installing turf as an isolated surface.
Does artificial turf correct a drainage problem?
No. Turf backing and aggregate can allow water movement, but the property still needs workable surface grade and discharge. Low areas or concentrated runoff may require grading, catch basins or solid pipe.
Can large pavers be installed directly over soil?
A dependable paver route or patio requires excavation and a prepared supporting system suited to the soil, loads and selected material. Organic or unstable soil can allow movement and uneven edges.
How is gravel kept out of the turf?
Compatible finished elevations, deliberate spacing and appropriate edge restraint help contain loose aggregate. The correct detail depends on the paver, turf, gravel depth and surrounding construction.
Is artificial turf suitable for children and pets?
It can provide a consistent high-use surface when the product, drainage, base, seams, edges and infill are matched to the application. Pet areas also require prompt waste removal, rinsing and regular cleaning.
Will artificial turf become hot in Houston sun?
Artificial turf can become significantly warmer than natural grass in direct sunlight. Shade, product selection, surrounding hardscape and the intended use of the area should be considered during planning.
