When is a channel drain appropriate for a driveway?
A channel drain may be appropriate when surface water moves across a broad section of driveway toward a garage, gate or other low point. The onsite evaluation must also confirm a workable underground route and discharge location.
Can grading alone stop water from collecting on a patio?
Sometimes nearby soil can be corrected to improve surface flow, but settled or improperly pitched hardscape may require collection or reconstruction. The cause must be identified before choosing the scope.
Where does the channel drain send the water?
The drain connects to solid conveyance pipe leading to a practical outlet selected around actual property elevations and applicable requirements. Water should not simply be moved to another problem area.
Can downspouts connect to the same underground system?
They can when the system is designed for the additional roof runoff and the pipe route and outlet are suitable. Downspout connections are normally made to solid pipe.
Will concrete need to be cut for a driveway channel drain?
Many installations require a controlled opening through existing concrete, while some are coordinated with new concrete or placed at an accessible edge. Site conditions determine the installation method.
How do you protect irrigation and utilities during excavation?
We review visible irrigation conditions and coordinate required utility locating before excavation. Buried private lines may still require additional identification or repair planning.
