Raised trip edges
Adjacent panels no longer meet evenly, making the route uncomfortable for children, guests, carts and everyday foot traffic.
Residential pedestrian concrete reconstruction
A cracked, tilted or sunken sidewalk can turn the everyday walk from the driveway to the front door into a constant concern. PLS Landscaping replaces failed residential sidewalks through controlled demolition, disposal, subgrade correction, forming, reinforcement, concrete placement, jointing and restoration. The new route is planned around doorway elevations, driveway connections, gates, foundation clearance and runoff so your family has a cleaner, more dependable path through the property.
When replacement becomes practical
Grinding a raised edge or filling a crack does not correct a settled base, poor elevation or water moving beneath the concrete. Replacement allows the failed section and unsuitable support material to be removed before the pedestrian route is rebuilt.
Adjacent panels no longer meet evenly, making the route uncomfortable for children, guests, carts and everyday foot traffic.
Widening cracks, broken corners and loose pieces can indicate movement, unsupported edges or deterioration beyond a surface repair.
A sunken or incorrectly sloped section may retain rainfall or direct runoff toward the house, lawn edge or entry.
Door landings, driveways, steps and gates can meet the sidewalk at abrupt heights that require coordinated reconstruction.
Complete replacement scope
Sidewalk replacement is planned as a connected construction assembly. The exact reinforcement, thickness, base and joint layout depend on the project conditions and intended use.
Saw cutting or controlled breakup separates failed concrete from surfaces that remain, followed by removal and disposal.
Loose, organic or unsuitable material is addressed before the support surface is shaped and compacted.
Forms establish width, height, slope and transitions. Reinforcement is installed according to the defined sidewalk application.
Concrete is placed, consolidated, finished for pedestrian traction, jointed and protected during initial curing.
Concrete construction in the field
These PLS photographs show demolition, prepared construction areas, concrete placement and a completed residential concrete surface. The layout and scope of each sidewalk are determined during the onsite evaluation.

Replacement sequence
Inspect cracks, settlement, access, utilities, irrigation, fixed elevations and runoff.
Separate the replacement area, remove concrete and haul away included debris.
Address unsuitable material and prepare a compacted support surface at the planned elevation.
Establish width, panel layout, transitions, drainage slope and specified reinforcement.
Place concrete, create the specified finish and install planned control joints.
Remove forms at the proper stage, clean the work area and complete included edge restoration.
A safer everyday connection
A properly rebuilt sidewalk gives children, family members and visitors a defined route between the home, driveway, gate and yard. Clean transitions also make daily movement with groceries, strollers, carts and outdoor equipment less stressful.

Sidewalk replacement questions
Demolition and disposal can be included in the replacement scope. The existing concrete is separated from surfaces that remain and removed so the subgrade can be inspected.
Sometimes. Section replacement depends on the condition of adjoining concrete, elevations, reinforcement, access and whether a functional transition can be created.
New concrete can be finished to coordinate with the existing texture, but an exact color match cannot be promised because older concrete changes with age, weather and previous treatments.
Forms and finished elevations are planned around foundation clearance, doorway heights, adjacent lawn grade and the intended runoff route. Separate drainage work may be included when surface slope alone is not sufficient.
No concrete installation can honestly be represented as crack-proof. Reinforcement, prepared support, controlled slope and planned joints help manage movement and improve structural continuity.
Pricing depends on dimensions, demolition, access, disposal, subgrade correction, forming, reinforcement, concrete quantity, finish, transitions, drainage coordination and restoration.
