Recurring water behind the house is rarely corrected by adding one drain at random. PLS Landscaping evaluates the grade, roof runoff, soil saturation, hardscape edges, neighboring flow and available discharge before building a system. The scope may combine regrading, catch basins, channel drains, French drains, downspout connections, solid pipe and lawn restoration.
What the Property Is Showing
The location and timing of standing water help determine whether the main problem is surface grade, concentrated roof runoff, saturated soil, blocked drainage or a hardscape transition.

Large roof areas can release concentrated water beside the foundation or into a low planting bed.
Concrete, pavers, borders or neighboring elevations can interrupt the original surface route and create a confined basin.
Slow-draining or compacted soil may remain saturated even after visible surface water disappears.
Low foundation-side soil, landscape beds or concentrated discharge require careful elevation and outlet planning.
Improper slope, collapsed pipe, root intrusion, undersized collection or a blocked discharge can limit performance.
System Selection
A complete plan can use more than one component. Collection, conveyance and discharge must work together without creating a new low area or directing runoff toward another structure.
Correct localized depressions, rebuild positive surface slope and shape transitions while maintaining suitable clearance below the foundation and exterior finishes.

Use perforated pipe, washed aggregate and filter fabric where subsurface water or a saturated corridor requires linear collection. It is not a substitute for every surface-grading problem.
Capture roof runoff separately and convey it through nonperforated drainage pipe so concentrated water is not released beside the house or into the lawn.
Set pipe fall toward a workable outlet, protect the discharge area and restore affected soil, grade and sod after testing and backfill.

Set collection points, pipe route, elevations and outlet before excavation.
Locate affected irrigation and utilities, then open the required trench and inlet areas.
Install the specified system, verify pipe fall, connections, flow and discharge.
Backfill, compact where appropriate, finish-grade and restore included lawn areas.
