Turf Placement and Seaming
Position the material, align the pile direction, complete controlled cuts, and join sections using the selected seam system.

Infill, Brushing, and Cleanup

Before Selecting Artificial Turf
Understand the Operating Conditions
Artificial turf removes mowing and natural-grass establishment, but it is still an exterior surface that requires appropriate design, cleaning, inspection, and realistic expectations.
Surface temperature
Synthetic fibers and infill can become hot in direct summer sun. Shade, exposure, adjacent reflective surfaces, intended use, and cooling access should be considered before installation.
Drainage is not automatic
A permeable backing does not correct a low yard or poor discharge. Existing runoff, subgrade, base permeability, surface slope, and the final outlet must work together.
Pet turf requires routine cleaning
Solid waste removal, rinsing, odor-control products, brushing, and inspection of high-use areas remain the property owner’s ongoing responsibility.
Wear and appearance change over time
Traffic patterns, furniture, pets, heat, debris, tree litter, and fiber direction can affect appearance. Periodic brushing and cleaning help maintain the surface.

Questions to Resolve Before Construction
Product samples are useful, but the project should be defined by the site, drainage, intended use, surrounding surfaces, and long-term cleaning requirements.
Can artificial turf be installed directly over soil?
A durable residential installation requires excavation and a prepared, shaped, compacted base. Placing turf directly over organic soil does not provide stable support or reliable finished elevations.
Does artificial turf solve backyard drainage?
No. Turf can allow water through its backing, but it cannot create an outlet or correct surrounding runoff by itself. Low areas, saturated soil, and poor discharge may require separate drainage construction.
Is every artificial turf product the same?
No. Pile height, face weight, blade construction, backing, permeability, color, thatch, warranty terms, and intended application vary. Product selection should follow the site and use requirements.
Can turf be installed between pavers?
Yes, when the paver spacing, base, drainage, strip width, edge attachment, blade direction, and final elevations are planned for the detail. Narrow turf joints require precise cutting and individual restraint.
